Dr Omer was born is Mosul, Iraq and has moved to Britain when he was 4 years old. He very soon developed a passion with helping people to feel better within themselves, fixing teeth and make people smile.He completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1998. To complete his expertise and provide more help to his patients, he then completed a Master in Medical Sciences (MMedSci) in Restorative Dentistry in 2007 and then the diploma for becoming a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) from the Royal College of Surgeon of England.
Omer El-Hamdoon sees knowledge as a blessing. For him, one should never stop seeking. He has learnt from famous scholars in the most important Islamic Schools in Europe. He complied Islamic Sciences in 2003 in the European Institute of Human Sciences; and later studied Fiqh with Sheikh Rahma*. In 2009, Sheikh Omer El-Hamdoon completed the memorisation of the Quran. In 2012 Dr Omer was given an Ijaazah to narrate from the books of hadith by the great scholar of modern times: Sheikh Mohammad Al-Hassan Al-Shinqeeti of Mauritania. He has currently completed a Master in Islamic Sciences at Markfield Institute of Higher Education (MIHE).
His efficiency and skills in management and negotiation have lead him very soon to be the head of many organisations. As a student, he has been elected as President of the University of Sheffield Islamic Circle Society, a post he retained for four years. Love for his devotion for the Community, he then went on to become the Director of the renowned Muslim Welfare House, Sheffield Branch. He has been elected twice at the position of President of the Muslim Association of Britain. In addition to that, he is also a trustee of a number of charities; Dr El-Hamdoon is the current Deputy Secretary at the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB).
Today, Dr Omer El-Hamdoon is a sought out British Scholar; and so currently acts as a mobile imam delivering khutbahs in different masajid in the UK and Europe, as well as courses, talks, lectures, seminars and trainings. He is also regularly asked to comment on national and international matters to represent Muslims views and defend their interests; as well as participating to resolute local conflicts.
Anyone who has studied, worked or closely dealt with Dr Omer will tell you that he has this great ability to see people’s potential and has the skills to encourage and support them to make the best use and thus creating their happiness.

*Sheikh Rahma was a student of the famous Sheikh Al-Habbaal a renowned scholar in Islam and of Al-Shafiee School of Jurisprudence.
