Fadel Soliman was born in 1966 in Egypt. He is an electronics engineer, and went on to become a self-employed marketing expert. He has studied at postgraduate level in Sharia and became a member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars. He is also an international speaker, orator, film maker and presenter of Islam.
Fadel Soliman has made 3 documentary films about Islam, called “The Fog is Lifting”.
He spent part of his life in the US where he was an Islamic Dawah activist and imam of the American University in Washington DC with a proficiency certificate in Quranic recitation. Fadel Soliman had already been appointed National Chaplain of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth in North and Central Americas (WAMY).
The impulse/trigger-point to dedicate his life to spreading what Islam really is came after 9/11; when feeling that the Western media was doing irreparable damage to relations between Muslims and non-Muslims. The drive to introduce Islam to non-Muslims became his “mission in life”. He founded the Bridges Foundation in 2005.
For Sheikh Fadel Soliman, Dawah is not about converting people to Islam (the way many people assume it is). He reminds us that Allah said to Prophet Muhammad that his “only mission is to deliver the message perfectly and that it is up to people to believe or not to believe.”
